A Japanese Tragedy

In post-war Japan, a widowed mother makes every sacrifice to raise her children, only to be met with rejection and indifference from her ungrateful offspring. Desperate to improve their lives, she turns to prostitution, but ultimately finds that even this cannot bridge the gap between them. Her despair becomes unbearable as she realizes she has lost both her children - a tragic fate sealed by the societal expectations of post-war Japan.
