Biography

Gig Young was a talented American actor known for his portrayal of complex characters in film and theater. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969), following previous nominations for Come Fill the Cup (1952) and Teacher's Pet (1959). Despite early promise, Young struggled with personal demons, including alcoholism, that ultimately derailed his career.
