Wake of the Red Witch

In the swashbuckling adventure "Wake of the Red Witch," John Wayne stars as Captain Ralls, a ruthless sea captain on a quest for revenge against the wealthy shipping magnate Mayrant Sidneye (Luther Adler). When Ralls' girlfriend, Angelique Desaix (Gail Russell), marries Sidneye, Ralls deliberately wrecks and sinks his ship, the Red Witch, laden with $5 million in gold bullion. As Ralls navigates treacherous underwater landscapes and faces off against giant sea monsters, he must confront his own demons and fight to salvage his plunder and win back the love of his life.
