Alfred Peter Abel was a German film actor, director, and producer born in Leipzig on March 12, 1879. He appeared in over 140 films between 1913 and 1938, earning recognition for his iconic roles, including Joh Fredersen in Fritz Lang's Metropolis and Count Told in Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler. Abel's diverse career took him from theaters in Lucerne to working with renowned directors like Max Reinhardt.
