Rudolf Hrušínský was a renowned Czech actor born on October 17, 1920, in Nová Včelnice, where he took his first breath backstage during a play. He pursued acting instead of law school and rose to fame with notable roles in films like "The Good Soldier Švejk" and "Capricious Summer," earning him international recognition and acclaim. Hrušínský won the Legion of Honor from France and was dubbed "the Czech Jean Gabin" by fellow director Jiří Menzel.
