Biography

Robert Paige was a versatile actor who began his career in radio and transitioned to film in 1934, initially adopting the screen name "David Carlyle" to avoid confusion with another leading man. He found success at Universal Pictures, starring in romantic comedies and musicals alongside Abbott and Costello, Olsen and Johnson, and others. Paige's affable persona and singing voice earned him a reputation as a reliable leading man, but he never quite achieved mega-stardom.
