George Pastell

Biography

George Pastell was a Cypriot actor born to a French mother of Indian origin and a Greek father. He studied the language and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before making his film debut in Give Us This Day (1949). He gained notoriety for playing villainous Eastern characters, including Inspector Etienne in Maniac (1963) and Hashmi Bey in The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb (1964), often cast by Hammer Film Productions.
