After his young son dies from negligence at a hospital, Harry Fertig (Ben Kingsley) takes drastic action. Slick lawyer Roy Bleakie (Alec Baldwin), looking only to win a case, is assigned to defend him. As Bleakie becomes embroiled in the case, he's forced to confront his own morals and question whether justice can be served when an honorable man is involved.
