The Sea Chase

Captain Karl Ehrlich (John Wayne), a former German Navy officer and master of the aging steam freighter Ergenstrasse, sets out to reach Germany during World War II, pursued relentlessly by British Royal Navy Commander Jeff Napier (David Farrar) who holds a grudge against him. Alongside Elsa Keller (Lana Turner), a woman Ehrlich is ordered to return to Germany safely with secrets she carries, they lead the British on a cat-and-mouse adventure across the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic, evading capture while navigating treacherous waters and uncovering Nazi crimes.
