The Sheltering Sky

Debra Winger and John Malkovich play an American couple, Kit and Port, who embark on a journey to North Africa with the intention of rekindling their marriage, but soon find themselves entangled in a complex web of desire, betrayal, and despair. As they navigate the treacherous Sahara Desert, they encounter various characters, including a pimp, a prostitute, and a Tuareg camel train leader, Belqassim, with whom Kit begins a tumultuous affair. Meanwhile, Port's infidelity and desperation lead to his tragic demise, leaving Kit to pick up the pieces and find her way back to reality.
