In a Lonely Place

Dixon "Dix" Steele, a troubled screenwriter with a violent temper, is suspected of murder. His neighbor, Laurel Gray, a lonely aspiring actress, clears his name after seeing him at the scene of the crime. As they fall in love, Laurel's doubts about Dix's innocence grow, fueled by his violent past and the police's fixation on him. Ultimately, Laurel realizes it's too late to salvage their relationship when Dix's violent outbursts become too much to handle.
