Invaders from Mars

A 1986 American science fiction horror remake that takes on the 1953 original, this film tells the story of a boy who tries to stop aliens that have taken over his town and are brainwashing its inhabitants. With elaborate creature and visual effects supplied by Stan Winston and John Dykstra, and a score composed by Christopher Young and Dave Storrs, the movie follows George Gardner's son David as he discovers an alien spaceship landing in their backyard and enlists the help of Nurse Linda Magnusson to uncover the truth behind the strange occurrences. As tensions rise, David must confront the brutish leader of the Martian invasion force in a desperate bid to save humanity from extinction.
