Konets Sankt-Peterburga

A young peasant boy from rural Russia arrives in St. Petersburg in search of work, and is taken in by a Bolshevik worker (Aleksandr Chistyakov) and his wife (Vera Baranovskaya). When the worker's family is mistakenly accused and arrested during a factory strike, the boy inadvertently leads to their arrest and is subsequently recruited into the Imperial Russian Army. However, the boy's actions have a unexpected consequence, as he helps to persuade a group of soldiers to stand down and ultimately plays a part in the Bolsheviks' rise to power in 1917, leading to the overthrow of the Tsar and the establishment of the Soviet government.
