Hiroshima

The film "Hiroshima" is a 1953 Japanese docudrama directed by Hideo Sekigawa about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and its impact on a group of teachers, their students, and their families. The story is based on eyewitness accounts of hibakusha children compiled by Dr. Arata Osada and was filmed with the support of tens of thousands of Hiroshima residents. Character Yukio Endo (Masaya Tsukida) is discharged from a reformatory orphanage and takes a group of street children to a cave to unearth the skeletons of bomb victims, leading to his arrest.
