Matinee

In the 1993 comedy film "Matinee," John Goodman stars as William Castle-type independent filmmaker Lawrence Woolsey, promoting the premiere of his sensational new horror film "Mant!" during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In Key West, Florida, Gene Loomis and his brother Dennis become involved in the chaos surrounding Woolsey's theatrical exhibition, which features a unique film experience combining film effects, stage props, and actors in rubber suits. The film also follows the romantic story of Gene and Sandra, a local girl who befriends Gene and becomes infatuated with him.
