The Taming of The Shrew

In 16th-century Italy, Petruchio, a rural landowner from Verona (Richard Burton), sets out to tame the strong-willed Katherina (Elizabeth Taylor), Baptista's eldest daughter. Katherina, also known as Kate, is ill-tempered and shrewish, but her suitor tames her with a series of challenges. Meanwhile, Baptista (Cyril Cusack) announces that he will not allow his younger daughter Bianca (Natasha Pyne) to marry until Katherina does.
