Follow Me, Boys!

In this heartwarming drama, Fred MacMurray stars as Lem Siddons, a saxophonist who dreams of becoming a lawyer but finds himself drawn to helping a community of boys through his role as scoutmaster of Troop 1 in a small town. As he becomes more involved with the troop, Lem's plans for a legal career are put on hold, and he eventually adopts one of the troubled young men under his care, Whitey. Featuring an all-star cast, including Vera Miles and Lillian Gish, this film is a poignant paean to the Boy Scouts and the power of community service, with a title song that was almost adopted as the organization's anthem.
