The documentary follows the creation of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's most attended fashion exhibit in history: China: Through the Looking Glass by curator Andrew Bolton at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The film chronicles a year's worth of preparations for the Chinese-inspired fashion exhibit and its accompanying gala, featuring 150 garments from 40 designers. Anna Wintour plays a meaningful role in conceptualizing and designing the Met Gala with Andrew Bolton.
