The Mad Doctor

A sophisticated but murderous physician (Basil Rathbone) woos, weds, and murders several of his wealthy female patients for their fortunes. The women appear to have died prematurely, with their above-suspicion doctor-husband diagnosing their deaths as the imminent result of disease. Ellen Drew plays Dr. Sebastian's latest bride, whose ex-fiancé (John Howard) grows increasingly suspicious of her new husband and ultimately saves her from a similar fate. As the authorities close in, the doctor takes his own life by jumping from a skyscraper.
