The Secret

A stranger, David Daguerre (Jean-Louis Trintignant), enters the life of a couple, Julia Vandal (Marlène Jobert) and Thomas Berthelot (Philippe Noiret), claiming he holds a secret that authorities will stop at nothing to keep hidden. As he predicts, the state mobilizes resources to find him, using a fabricated story about an asylum escapee, leaving the true nature of David's claim - and his own sanity - uncertain until the end.
