After Kit Li (Jet Li) loses his wife and son in a bomb threat he thought he defused, he becomes a stunt double for martial arts film star Frankie Lone (Jacky Cheung). When the Doctor's gang takes over an exhibition of Russia's crown jewels at a Hong Kong hotel, Kit must intervene to stop them. As Kit fights to save the day, romance blossoms between him and nosy reporter Helen Vu (Chingmy Yau), and his former life as a police officer slowly fades away.
