In "Singapore", Fred MacMurray returns to Singapore after five years, searching for a fortune in smuggled pearls. There, he reunites with his pre-war fiancée Linda (Ava Gardner), now married to rich planter Michael Van Leyden and suffering from amnesia. As Gordon tries to help Linda remember her past, sinister fence Mauribus schemes to get the pearls, leading to a thrilling conclusion at the airport.
