Tora-san's Runaway

In "Tora-san's Runaway," a 1970 Japanese comedy film directed by Yoji Yamada, Kiyoshi Atsumi stars as Torajirō Kuruma (Tora-san), a vagrant who attempts to change his ways after encountering a dying yakuza's son and the urging of his love interest, Sakura. As he travels to Hokkaido, Tora visits a hospital where a father is reunited with his estranged son, leading him to question his life and ultimately decide that he wants a job with "sweat and oil." Returning to Shibamata, Tora finds work at a tofu shop but ultimately returns to his wandering lifestyle, leaving behind a trail of comedic misadventures.
