Merveilleuse Angélique

In 17th century Paris, Angélique de Peyrac is saved by her childhood friend and first love, Nicolas (Giuliano Gemma), when she's endangered in the streets. With his help, she finds her children, but their happiness is short-lived as a rivalry between gangs leads to tragic consequences. After various misadventures, including a failed attempt at revenge against her enemies, Angélique meets Philippe de Plessis-Bellières (Claude Giraud), and they embark on a passionate affair that eventually leads him to propose marriage.
