In this 1941 musical comedy film, Fred Astaire plays Robert Curtis, a Broadway choreographer who enlists in the Army after being caught up in a prank involving his object of affection, Sheila Winthrop, played by Rita Hayworth. At training camp, Robert befriends fellow recruits and performs tap dance routines with them, including "Rehearsal Duet" and "Boogie Barcarolle." Meanwhile, Martin Cortland, Robert's choreographer friend played by Robert Benchley, tries to win over Sheila's affections, leading to a series of misunderstandings and rekindled chemistry between Robert and Sheila.
