The Adventurer

In this hilarious silent short comedy film, Charlie Chaplin plays The Eel, a daring convict who escapes from prison and hilariously navigates his way through a series of absurd misadventures. With a series of slapstick mishaps, he saves the lives of three people in peril - including a beautiful girl and her mother - before competing with an annoying suitor for the favor of the charming Miss Brown at an upper-class social party. Along the way, The Eel uses his cunning wit and physical humor to evade capture by bumbling authorities, all while feigning exhaustion and pretending to be someone he's not.
