Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle plays Fatty, whose wife is fed up with his drunkenness and sends him to the No Hope Sanitarium to cure his addiction. Fatty disguises himself as a nurse to escape, but after a series of mishaps, including a wild foot race and a flirtation with Dr. Hampton, he finally succeeds in breaking free from the sanitarium.
