Golem, the Spirit of the Exile

In 1990s Paris, a woman (Hanna Schygulla) and her sisters, including Naomi (Ophrah Shemesh) and Ruth (Mireille Perrier), are forced into exile after the death of their husbands, mirroring the allegory of the Jewish mythical creature Golem. The film explores themes of migrations and unrooting, reflecting director Amos Gitai's experiences in self-imposed exile following a documentary ban in Israel.
