Something for Everyone

In post-war Austria, an opportunistic young man named Konrad Ludwig (Michael York) begins working as a footman to widowed Countess Herthe von Ornstein (Angela Lansbury), using his sexual talents to better his station in life. As he schemes to become one of the countess's servants, Konrad romances the beautiful and wealthy young lady Anneliese Pleschke, daughter of a nouveau riche couple, and plots to use her family's wealth to reopen castle Ornstein. Konrad becomes embroiled in the lives of the countess's two grown children, including Helmuth (Anthony Higgins), who is gay, and his sister Lotte (Jane Carr), who uses blackmail to ensure Konrad marries her instead of her mother.
