Maurice Ronet was a French film actor, director, and writer born Maurice Julien Marie Robinet in Nice, Alpes Maritimes. He began his career with stage performances alongside his parents at 14 and later studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Jean-Louis Barrault. Ronet's breakthrough came in 1958 with Louis Malle's Elevator to the Gallows, which led to roles in notable films like Purple Noon and adaptations of The Talented Mr. Ripley.
