She began her career as a model, appearing in Italian Vogue and the 2003 Pirelli calendar, before landing acting roles in Layer Cake (2004) and Alfie (2004), marking her breakthrough in the industry. Her portrayal of Tippi Hedren in The Girl (2012) earned her nominations for BAFTA and Golden Globe awards.
