Ann Sothern

Biography

Ann Sothern was a prolific American actress who worked on stage, radio, film, and television for nearly six decades, beginning her career in the late 1920s with bit parts in films. She gained stardom as the brash Brooklyn showgirl Maisie Ravier in MGM's successful series of short stories, which spawned numerous films and a network radio series. Sothern also starred in two popular sitcoms, Private Secretary and The Ann Sothern Show, earning three Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
