Biography

Richard Egan was a celebrated American actor born on July 29, 1921, in San Francisco, California, to Irish descent. He began his acting career in 1949 and won two Golden Globe Awards for his performances in "The Glory Brigade" (1953) and "The Kid from Left Field" (1953). Egan's notable film roles also include starring as King Leonidas in "The 300 Spartans" (1962) and Pat McDougal in "The House That Would Not Die" (1970).
