The Violent Men

A former Union Army officer, John Parrish (Glenn Ford), plans to sell his land to Anchor Ranch and move east with his fiancée. However, after witnessing a murder and being offered a low price by the crippled owner, Lew Wilkison (Edward G. Robinson), John decides to stay and fight when one of his hands is killed. John's wife, Caroline Vail, leaves him over his decision, and he must confront the men of Anchor Ranch, including Cole, Martha's brother, who is carrying on with her, as well as Judith, Lew's daughter, who ultimately helps John defeat her family members in a violent showdown to protect the land and the woman he loves.
