Happy Ever After

In the 1954 British comedy film "Happy Ever After" (also known as "O'Leary Night"), Jasper O'Leary (David Niven) takes over his uncle's hunting estate in rural Ireland, but his popularity is short-lived as the villagers plot to drive him away. Led by Thady O'Heggarty (Barry Fitzgerald), they use a secret lottery and various schemes to try and kill Jasper, who is determined to squeeze every last penny from his new inheritance. Meanwhile, Jasper's romantic rivalry with Serena McGluskey (Yvonne De Carlo) and his unscrupulous business dealings create chaos in the village, all set against a backdrop of Irish charm and humor.
