Clark Gable stars as Charley Enley Kyng, a wealthy casino owner trying to balance his work and family life, as he navigates a series of challenges including a heart condition, a wayward son, and a rival gambler. With the help of his loyal staff, including croupier Robbin Elcott (Wendell Corey) and Alice Elcott (Audrey Totter), Charley faces off against a ruthless gangster and finds a way to redeem himself and his relationships. Along the way, Paul, Charley's estranged son (played by Alexis Smith), learns to appreciate his father's sacrifices.
