On the eve of retirement, Captain Nathan Brittles takes out a last patrol to stop an impending massive Indian attack on Fort Starke in Utah. Encumbered by women who must be evacuated, Brittles finds his mission imperiled. As he navigates this treacherous landscape, he is also forced to reconcile two hormonal lieutenants vying for the affections of a prim young woman, all while grappling with the passing of time and love lost.
