Eijirō Tōno

Biography

Eijirō Tōno was a Japanese actor born on September 17, 1907, in Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture. He appeared in over 400 television shows, nearly 250 films, and numerous stage productions throughout his more than 50-year career. Notable roles include his collaborations with directors Akira Kurosawa and Yasujirō Ozu, as well as appearances in films like Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, and Tora! Tora! Tora!.
