John Steiner was born on January 7, 1941, in Chester to a Swiss father and English mother. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he performed in Peter Brook's production of Marat/Sade. Steiner later gained international recognition for his roles in Italian films, including Spaghetti Westerns like Tepepa and cult classics such as those featured in "Eurocrime!
