In a world of honor and duty, one man stands apart – Ryunosuke Tsukue, an amoral samurai with an unorthodox style that cuts through the conventions of his time. A master swordsman with no feeling, he kills without remorse, leaving a trail of death in his wake. As he navigates the turbulent final days of Shogunate rule, Ryunosuke's grip on reality begins to slip, haunted by the ghosts of his victims and the words of a wise mentor: "The sword is the soul. Study the soul to know the sword. Evil mind, evil sword."
