Will Geer was a renowned American actor and social activist, best known for his iconic role as Grandpa Zebulon Tyler Walton in the 1970s TV series The Waltons. A devoted supporter of labor organizing and communist movements, he befriended Woody Guthrie and played key roles in introducing influential figures to People's World and other left-wing publications. Geer was also a blacklisted figure after refusing to testify before the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
