Tantoo Cardinal is a Canadian actress of Cree and Métis heritage, recognized for her contributions to Aboriginal performing arts in Canada. She was made a member of the Order of Canada in 2009 for her work in film, television, and theatre, including notable roles in "Dances with Wolves" and "Legends of the Fall". Cardinal has also founded the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company and received numerous awards for her acting career spanning over 50 years.
