In this 1972 Czechoslovak Gothic drama, directed by Juraj Herz and based on a novel by Alexander Grin, jealousy consumed by Viktoria (Iva Janžurová) drives her to plot the murder of her sister Klára, whom she feels is gaining popularity and inheriting their father's property. As Viktoria's plan unfolds, guilt and blackmail become added complications, threatening to expose her dark secret.
