James Gregory

Biography

James Gregory was a veteran character actor whose career spanned decades and included notable roles in Al Capone (1959), The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), and Barney Miller (1975-1982). He began performing as a summer stock player in 1935, touring small towns with his troupe before making Broadway debut in Key Largo in 1939. Gregory served in WWII and later transitioned to live television, becoming a staple of major productions from the 1950s to 1980s.
