John Le Mesurier
Biography
John Le Mesurier was a BAFTA Award-winning English actor born on April 5, 1912. He is best remembered for his iconic role as Sergeant Arthur Wilson in the BBC television situation comedy Dad's Army (1968–1977). Before becoming a household name, Le Mesurier had a distinguished stage career, making his debut at the Palladium Theatre in Edinburgh in 1934, and later worked with notable actors like Alec Guinness.
